This exhibition marked the most significant acquisition by Museum Kampa, Collage II by Jiří Valenta, bought last year from a private owner. Demonstration of aesthetic potential in unique combination with authentic artefacts of medieval art was intended to illustrate opportunities for interpretation of Art Informel of the late 50s and early 60s. The exhibition includes a review of works by Valenta’s colleagues of the time which are meant to place Collage II in appropriate context.
