The Museum's Collections

•••••

The Museum Kampa collection mainly focuses on 20th-century art, but it also extends to the 19th and 21st centuries. Unlike most institutional collections it is not structured according to the material, but thematically, and so it also maps the history of the individual parts of the collection. One part of Jan and Meda Mládek’s original collection has been donated to Prague but is curated by the museum, while the other part comprises the collection of Museum Kampa – the Jan and Meda Mládek Foundation. Museum Kampa regularly lends works from its collections and the collections it curates for exhibitions in this country and abroad. By agreement these works can also be made available to researchers, especially art historians.
